"Our main goal in designing this site was to not detract from Katie's photographs. The concept we proposed was to make a virtual gallery where we could "hang" her photos. Second, we wanted the photos to be the first thing you saw. Since most of us read left to right, we wanted a right-side navigation that was visible enough to be useful but not dominate. We took our color scheme from her signature photograph, "Reverence" which is displayed on the main page.
One of the challenges with this site's content being primarily digital versions of art photography, was to render the color true to the photos. Each photograph was scanned and then color adjusted to match the original under Katie's supervision."
